Comparison of End Products in Cell Division?

Mitosis has one cell division and results in two daughter cells which are diploid (meaning the chromosomes are paired) and identical to the original mother cell. Meiosis has two cell divisions and results in gametes (sperm and egg). The first cell division separates chromosome pairs and the second cell division separates the sister chromatids. The gametes are haploid and genetically different from the parent cell due to crossing over on chromosome pairs.
