Is it possible to get bronchitis from the smell of marijuana?

Someone in my summer school cl smelled like marijuana, and the girl sitting next to me, and I both had a weird feeling in our throat. I woke up the next morning, with a stuffy nose, and coughed up phlegm. It is possible that this is from the smell of marijuana, or is it from something else?
