Allow me to rephrase my question...?

When I asked earlier whether Christians were aware that some Americans have never been taught to believe in God, many people responded that this was impossible because religion permeates American society, there's a church in every town, etc. Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. I certainly grew up knowing that *some* people out there believed in God. But not in my house. Or in the houses of anyone we ociated with. I was taught to love my fellow man and be a good person. That's the only 'indoctrination' I ever had. Is it really so hard to believe there are people out there like me?
